2000 Annual Commencement Ceremonies

Saturday, June 3, 2000 at 7:30 AM

University Amphitheatre

Turlock, California 95380

GUEST SEATING

Seating at the ceremony will be provided to guests based on their order of arrival; ***tickets will NOT be issued.** There is no reserved general seating.* The Amphitheatre can accommodate seating for an estimated 9000 guests. Special seating will be provided for disabled individuals. However, due to limited space, disabled guests may be accompanied by only one non- disabled person in the special seating area.

HONORS

Candidates graduating with honors will wear gold cords in the academic procession and they will be recognized during the commencement ceremony. Academic honors will be published in the official program. Beginning the week of April 3, the honors list will be posted on the bulletin board outside the Admissions and Records Off ice. (Academic honors listing only includes those eligible through Winter Term 2000, as Spring data is not yet available)

PARKING

Free parking will be available during commencement exercises, and Public Safety officers will be on duty to direct guests to the most accessible lots. To avoid receiving a ticket, please do not park in unauthorized spaces or lots off-campus. Spaces designated as "handicapped parking," however, are available for the use of guests with automobiles displaying the appropriate placard. Shuttle service will be provided for physically challenged persons from the parking lot to the Amphitheatre.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Complimentary professional photographs will be taken by Chappell Studios, Inc., as graduates cross the stage and receive their diplomas at Commencement. Within one week following Commencement, each graduate will receive in the mail a color proof and may purchase additional photos at a reasonable cost. Individual orders will be processed within 14 days of receipt.

WEATHER

Since the exercises are held outdoors in the Amphitheatre, those who plan to attend should be prepared for a variety of weather conditions. In early June, the weather is normally sunny and warm. You may want to dress in cool, comfortable clothing, bring hats and a supply of water. Umbrellas are not permitted because they obstruct the view of the ceremony. Inclement weather is always possible, if unlikely, so please prepare accordingly and remain flexible if a delay or postponement is necessary. Normally, ceremonies proceed as scheduled with few delays or interruptions. Thank you for your cooperation.
